How do I become a citizen?
Citizenship for non-Founders can happen three ways: a) by birth or adoption, b) by Temple membership, or c) by naturalization. The naturalization process is simple and free. The first thing you should do is complete the Application for Tourist Visa (located here). Once it's completed, you'll receive an invitation to our Discord server, where you'll be allowed to observe the functioning of the Independent State of New Velothis from the inside. After two weeks as a tourist, you'll be given the opportunity to take the Naturalization Exam. A passing score will grant you citizenship in New Velothis.
Does New Velothis claim any land, and if so, do I have to move?
We do claim land, in Oklahoma, but our citizenship is predominantly online. No relocation is ever necessary to participate in New Velothis activities.
I am the leader of another micronation. How do I open diplomatic relations?
Please contact the Council directly for diplomatic inquiries. [COMING SOON]
Do I have to be a Tribunal Temple religious reconstructionist to seek citizenship?
Absolutely not! All citizens are guaranteed freedom of religion so long as their beliefs do not discriminate against any protected category. Though the Triune Way is our unofficial civic religion, we are humanistic and interfaith in our policy.
So what exactly is the relationship between New Velothis and spirituality?
Well, admittedly, two of the Houses have aspects that are spiritual/religious in nature, so that's what everyone will talk about when they get wind of it-- Indoril has theology as a focus and often works closely with the Temple, and Telvanni has occultism as a focus. However, even those two have applications that aren't at all spiritual, religious, or occult-- it's more than possible to join Telvanni as a scientist, or Indoril as a philosopher, archivist, or lawkeeper.
How transparent are your governmental processes?
All Council discussions are held in a space where public observation is both possible and encouraged, and archived in full once they are adjourned.
How do I know what Great House I'm in?
It depends on what you're most interested in. If you're a philosopher, a theologian, or an otherwise high-minded navel-gazer, you probably belong in Indoril. If you're interested in justice and military strategy, check out Redoran. If you're an occultist, a scientist, or some combination of the two, Telvanni may be your bag. And if you want to help with trade and commerce, Hlaalu may be a good fit.
Cool! Can I join House Dres?
No. Stop asking.
Cool! Can I join House Dagoth?
WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THE SIXTH HOUSE.
Cool! Can I be an Ashlander?
...That, in fact, is actually a thing we're working on. Watch this space for details.
If New Velothis is a faithful reproduction of Morrowind, where are the slaves?
Ohhhhhhhhhh, Three Eternal, will you people STOP asking that? If that's all you remember from Morrowind, you need to stop being an edgelord and play the game again. And play the Ebonheart Pact questline in ESO while you're at it.
We're not a "faithful reconstruction" so much as a reimagining. We seek to adapt what we see as the best parts of Morrowind's culture and government, while the Reborn Tribunal Temple does the same with its religion in conjunction with House Indoril. Slavery is emphatically not one of the best parts of Morrowind, and so it has no place here.
But I wanted to be a slave.
Something tells me that the Gorean subculture might fall more into your interest area.
[Something something false gods]
Please leave. I cannot even begin to describe the amount of time we don't have for this shit.
